Jameika Mangum is a former prosecutor, and solo practitioner practicing in the Chicago area. Mangum started her own law firm in 2010, and runs a general practice law firm.
Mrs. Mangum earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Southern California. Mangum attended law school in California, and received a Juris doctorate degree. In addition to her juris doctorate degree, Mrs. Mangum earned an Intellectual Property Law Certificate. While in law school, Mrs. Mangum worked for a Los Angeles non-profit organization, and drafted grant proposals for programs to assist at-risk youth in the community.
As a former law clerk of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Mrs. Mangum enjoyed working in the High Tech Crimes Unit/Consumer Protection Division. In 2008, Mangum joined the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office in Illinois. Prior to joining the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, Mrs. Mangum worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of New Mexico.
In June of 2009, President John O’Brien, Illinois State Bar Association, appointed Mrs. Mangum to serve on the Criminal Justice Section Council. In 2014, Mangum was appointed Chair of the Criminal Justice Section Council. Additionally, Mangum served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Racial and Ethnic Minorities and the Law. Mangum currently serves on the Tort Law Section Council and the Standing Committee on Racial and Ethnic Minorities and the Law (ISBA). Mangum is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, and the Cook County Bar Association.
